Welcome to Tayside Opera
loving living opera
Based in Dundee, but welcoming audiences and performers from across Scotland, we bring live opera to theatres and other venues all along the east coast.
Our next show in June 2024 is a new production of Donizetti's Scottish-based masterpiece, Lucia di Lammermoor.
1 June & 5 - 8 June 2024
Lucia di Lammermoor
Gaetano Donizetti
Passion, betrayal, murder and madness, and beautiful, haunting music - Donizetti’s bel canto masterpiece has it all.
Based on Sir Walter Scott’s novel The Bride of Lammermoor and set in early 18th century Scotland, the opera tells the tragic story of a young woman driven to insanity by the machinations of the men around her.
Tayside Opera’s new production features full orchestral accompaniment and, for the first time, surtitles at our Dundee venue.
